Dryland Training
The sport of diving heavily relies on aerial awareness and repetition. Trampolines, springboards, crash mats, and foam pits are a great tools to teach young athletes how to gain awareness of their body in the air and safely fall. This is great supplemental training for our recreational athletes, or a great way to get introduced to the sport. We are currently working on making this a reality and plan on it being scheduled alongside the Recreational Diving sessions:
Session 1: September, 2nd through October 4th
Session 2: October 6th - November 8th
Session 3: November 10th - December 20th
Session 4: TBD
Session 5: TBD
Session 6: TBD
Beginner Dryland
Beginner Dryland is for kids ages 6-10 and is a great introduction to the sport out of the pool. Athletes will learn the basics of diving mechanics, simple trampoline & tumbling skills, and push the boundaries of their aerial confidence. The goal is to increase body control and air awareness at a young age before applying these skills to more complex skills on the boards and in the water.
Advanced Dryland
Advanced Dryland is for kids ages 8-13 and would be a great supplement to Advanced & Middle School Diving Lessons as well as leveling up their dryland skills. Athletes will continue to build their mechanical foundation for diving but focus more on drills that will translate directly to skills on the boards and in the water. The goal is to create a safe space for the athletes to learn new skills and gain the confidence to attempt them at the pool.
